7th International Conference on The Image

This event is running from 01 September 2016 until 02 September 2016

This year’s International Conference on the Image will be hosted in Liverpool by the Institute of Culture Capital, with support from conference partners Liverpool Biennial and the Face Lab research group at Liverpool John Moores University.

Founded in 2010, the International Conference on the Image is a means by which to interrogate the nature and functions of image-making and images in themselves. The conference is a cross-disciplinary forum bringing together researchers, teachers and practitioners from areas including architecture, art, cognitive science, communications, computer science, cultural studies, design, education, film studies, history, linguistics, management, marketing, media studies, museum studies, philosophy, photography, psychology, religious studies, semiotics and more.

Each conference is built upon four key features: internationalism, interdisciplinarity, inclusiveness and interaction. Conference delegates include leaders in the field as well as emerging artists and scholars, who travel to the conference from all corners of the globe and represent a broad range of disciplines and perspectives. A variety of presentation options and session types offer delegates multiple opportunities to engage, to discuss key issues in the field, and to build relationships with scholars from other cultures and disciplines.

Details on how to register or submit a proposal for the conference can be found on the Image Knowledge Community website.
