AHRC Commons: Common Ground

This event is on 21 June 2016 9:30am

The Common Ground is a gathering of AHRC Commons members that will enable ideas and skills to be exchanged, new collaborations to be forged, networks to be enriched, knowledge to be produced, and the value of the arts and humanities to be expressed, discussed, and celebrated.

Liverpool ArtLab: The city as a laboratory for cultural provocations, story-telling and knowledge exchange is one of the many exhibits, presentations, workshops, performances and cinema screenings that will form part of the Common Ground event.

Created by ICC Head of Research, Dr. Beatriz García, and ICC Research Fellow, Dr. Chiara Zuanni, ArtLab will involve the 360-degree visual representation of different layers of research data and cultural sector collaborations in the context of five interrelated University of Liverpool research projects funded by an AHRC Cultural Engagement grant — projects that have in common a focus on Liverpool as a city that presents the ideal conditions for observing the impact and value of cultural interventions, and their capacity to transform places.

One of the five projects represented is the Liverpool 2018 research programme coordinated by Dr. García, which, in addition to receiving funding from the AHRC, has also received support from Culture Liverpool and the ICC Endowment Fund.

The AHRC Commons is an initiative which aims to establish new forums where arts and humanities researchers, from different subject areas and disciplines, can gather with collaborators from other sectors.
