North Meets South: a social prescribing exchange

The ICC’s Head of Research Kerry Wilson is taking part in a roundtable knowledge exchange event on social prescribing at Manchester Metropolitan University on Tuesday 26th May 2015. The event will bring together a number of arts and health practitioners, researchers and health and social care services to share learning across initiatives and research programmes. The event has been convened by Jo Ward, project lead on the North West Social Prescribing Directory.

Kerry will provide an update on her AHRC-funded Art of Social Prescribing project and engage in discussion on ‘making a case’ for social prescribing in the current health and social care climate. Other participants include representatives of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Arts, Health and Wellbeing; Arts and Health South West; Health Education North West; the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA); Halton and Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs); and the universities of Liverpool, Manchester and Lancaster.
