RSA Connect: Hull

ICC Head of Research, Beatriz Garcia, will be attending RSA Connect: Hull, part of the new ‘Connect’ event series created by the RSA that combines networking for RSA fellows and in-depth group discussion on specific themes.

Similar to the Engage series, the aims and objectives of the Connect series are to ‘connect’ (by providing structured networking sessions), ‘inform’ (by outlining RSA activity, projects and routes to engagement) and ‘inspire’ (by demonstrating how the RSA enriches society through ideas and action).

The context for this particular event will be the preparations for Hull’s year as UK City of Culture in 2017. As part of the event, Dr Garcia will speak alongside Lia Ghilardi on alternative approaches to regeneration — through people, culture and enterprise — and will share examples of how we can harness the power of the community, build a sense of ownership and demonstrate that making a difference is not just a ‘tick box quick fix’, but an investment in our future.
