The Arts in Society Conference 2016

This event is on 10 August 2016

This August, ICC Knowledge Exchange & Business Manager, Sue Potts, will be attending the International Conference on the Arts in Society, which is being held this year at the University of California Los Angeles.

In her conference paper, Sue will present findings from SILO (Supporting Improved Learning Opportunities for Hard to Reach Adults) alongside project partner Jane Johnson of Safe Productions.

SILO brought five European partners together to develop a methodology for mapping the skills gained through involvement in participatory art. This conference paper describes how SILO works in different contexts, outlining it’s suitability for artists in practice and considering how adult education policy can recognise participatory arts as a vehicle for employability.

The International Conference on the Arts in Society attracts leaders in the field, as well as emerging scholars, who travel to the conference from all corners of the globe and represent a broad range of disciplines and perspectives.

Further information on the conference is available here.
