8th International Sport Business Symposium

This event is on 16 August 2016

ICC Head of Research for Cultural Policy, Dr. Beatriz García, will be presenting a paper on the cultural policy of global events at the 8th International Sport Business Symposium, which is being held in Rio de Janeiro this year, in time to coincide with the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Since 2006, Olympic scholars have convened for this one-day symposium held during the Games in order to exchange thoughts and to present research related to the Games. The 8th International Sport Business Symposium will be no different in its call for research papers directly related to the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Games, as well as prior and future Olympic, Youth and Paralympic Games.

Papers about Games media, legacy, tourism, consumers, organisations, finance, economics, environment and politics will all be welcome at this year’s event, which is being hosted by Rio de Janeiro State University.

Further information about the event, including on how to register, can be found on the event page here courtesy of the University of Mainz.
