Cultural Transformations: The Impacts of Hull UK City of Culture 2017

This event is on 15 March 2018

This March, ICC Director, Dr Beatriz Garcia, will speak at Cultural Transformations: The Impacts of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, an event hosted by the University of Hull that will bring together stakeholders from the cultural sector, funders, academia and the community to discuss the findings from the evaluation of Hull’s time as UK City of Culture.

The Culture, Place and Policy Institute at the University of Hull is leading on research into the processes, impacts and legacies of Hull’s position as the UK City of Culture 2017. These findings have and will inform the development of the post-2017 legacy strategy, contribute to a blueprint for future UK City of Culture title holders, and begin to address the question: “How do we strengthen culture in our cities?”.

As part of the event, Beatriz will reflect on the outcomes and lessons from Hull 2017 in a UK, European and global context, in a panel discussion also featuring Laura McMillan (Director of Operations and Legacy, Coventry 2021), Louise Ejgod Hansen (Director of RethinkIMPACTS 2017, Aarhus 2017) and Professor Franco Bianchini (Director of the Culture, Policy and Place Institute).

Further information on the event and how to register can be found on the Hull 2017 website.
