1st International Social Prescribing Network Research Conference

This event is on 14 June 2018

The Social Prescribing Network is holding its first international conference dedicated to research in the field in June 2018. Over the past five years there has been an exponential increase in interest, and delivery of social prescribing initiatives, within the UK and internationally. This has been accompanied by considerable multi-disciplinary research and evaluation activity on social prescribing emanating from practice and academia.

This inaugural conference aims to bring the growing social prescribing research community together in one place for the first time, in order to identify priority research areas and develop the evidence base with a common research framework exploring the efficacy of non-clinical community interventions.

The ICC’s Kerry Wilson (Head of Research & AHRC Leadership Fellow) and Gayle Whelan (Research Fellow) have been invited to speak at the conference, sharing the institute’s research on the social value of arts on prescription (click here for full abstract). We are delighted to be part of this international research community, as we continue to develop our research in this area in collaboration with the Institute of Psychology, Health and Society.
