Added on Monday, April 16th, 2018

This week, ICC Director, Dr Beatriz Garcia, will be in Marseille as part of an event marking the fifth anniversary of the city’s reign as European Capital of Culture.

Hosted by the Institut d’Études Avancées at University of Aix-Marseille, the event will involve a panel discussion on mega-events, culture and gentrification featuring Beatriz and other invited experts — as well as a specialist academic workshop dedicated to the topic of mega-events and urban development more broadly.

As part of the event, Beatriz will present initial findings from the Impacts 18 programme, which is tasked with examining the long-term legacies of the Liverpool 2008 European Capital of Culture Year 10 years on.
