ICC Research Associate, Dr Rafaela Ganga, to attend expert congress on virtual museums

Added on Monday, April 9th, 2018

This week, ICC Research Associate, Dr Rafaela Ganga, will be in Berlin as part of a two-day coordination meeting for the Virtual Multimodal Museum (ViMM) project — an EU Horizon 2020 funded action which brings together world-leading experts on virtual museums and digital cultural heritage.

Hosted by Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, the main objective of the meeting will be to agree a series of recommendations and proposals for the EU and the wider digital cultural heritage community, which will be published by ViMM in the form of a manifesto, roadmap and action plan.

The work of the ViMM network is broken down into seven interlinked thematic areas: ‘definitions’, ‘directions’, ‘documentation’, ‘dimensions’, ‘demand’, ‘discovery’ and ‘decisions’. As part of the two-day meeting, Rafaela will contribute to the development of the first thematic area, ‘definition’, which will address the legal, technical and conceptual definitions relevant to virtual museums.
