Dr Beatriz Garcia presents at the World Summit on Arts and Culture

Added on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014

The ICC’s Head of Research, Cultural Policy and Impact is speaking today at the World Summit on Arts and Culture, being held in Chile. She will offer a reflection about good examples of Mixed Management as shown within the context of large scale events such as the EU Capital of Culture Programme and the Cultural Olympiad within the Olympic Games. And, will argue that, based on her research:  Impacts 08 and the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Evaluation; that only cities capable of developing an integrated cultural ecology with contributions from diverse public and private stakeholders can attract this type of events (normally aimed at gaining and international / global projection) but, most importantly, an integrated cultural ecology will ensure a sustainable legacy that can benefit them locally and independently of the event itself.
