15th International Conference on the Arts in Society

This event is on 24 June 2020 9:00am

Against the Grain: Arts and the Crisis of Democracy

We’re very excited to be taking part in the Arts in Society 2020 conference, which is hosted by the National University of Ireland Galway in the city’s year as European Capital of Culture.

Founded in 2000, the Arts in Society Research Network offers an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of the role of the arts in society. It is a place for critical engagement, examination and experimentation, developing ideas that connect the arts to their contexts in the world – on stage, in studios and theatres, in classrooms, in museums and galleries, on the streets and in communities.

ICC Head of Research Kerry Wilson will be presenting a paper at the conference – Professional Ethics and Virtuous Cultural Work in the Criminal Justice System – based on research she completed as part of her AHRC Leadership Fellowship 2017-19. Kerry’s full abstract can be accessed here.
