Rapid evidence review published on wellbeing and place-based cultural interventions

Added on Friday, January 13th, 2023

The What Works Centre for Wellbeing (WWW), the UK’s independent body for wellbeing evidence, policy and practice, commissioned the Institute of Cultural Capital to conduct a rapid review of the evidence-base on what works to improve wellbeing in place-based arts and culture interventions, including cultural events and mega-events.

The review was published in December 2022, available as a full report and Quick Read briefing, as part of the WWW’s collaboration with Spirit of 2012, the University of Warwick and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) linked to the Coventry 2021 UK City of Culture programme. Key findings from the review have also been shared as part of the Coventry 2021 Future Trends policy briefing series, with a paper focused on measuring the impact of arts and culture on wellbeing.
